Nurture your body, mind, emotions, & spirit

It’s a challenging time for a lot of us right now, and for many of us it’s never been more difficult to feel connected, both to ourselves and to each other. I invite you to give yourself the gift of 90 minutes each week to cultivate your connection with yourself - in the company and support of a small group - facilitated by Kallie England, an experiential therapist & yoga teacher.

Depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, and other difficult feelings are experienced in the body, mind, emotions, and spirit in ways that talk therapy alone or physical activity alone often can’t access. There is a mountain of evidence that shows that therapy is most effective when we have skills to nurture the body, mind, and emotions together. In this group, we’ll combine the best of both worlds — we’ll learn evidence-based talk therapy skills to support our minds in cognitively processing our challenges, and we’ll utilize gentle yoga practices that invite our bodies, emotions, and spirits into safe presence with ourselves.

We’ll start by creating sacred space in each of our homes and establishing safe space with each other. We’ll then learn a variety of practical, accessible yoga practices, including pranayama (breathing exercises), asana (yoga postures), meditation, and maybe even some mantra. One of the goals is for you to really learn the practices that resonate most with you, so that you can use them on your own whenever you need to come back into connection with yourself. There will be structured opportunities for you to share about your journey with other folks facing similar challenges and to give and receive support from each other.

who is this for?

This group is designed for adults who would like to deepen their connection with themselves, practice being more fully present in their bodies and their lives, and build skills for coping with life’s challenges. The practices we’ll explore are helpful in coping with symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, stress, and other challenges that may or may not have a formal label to describe them.

Group size will be limited to ensure plenty of opportunity for individual attention, sharing, and depth.

People of all genders, sexual expressions, racial/ethnic/cultural identities, body types, health statuses, socioeconomic statuses, and religious/spiritual affiliation are welcome.
